PLAYING OUT: Wei Luo (17 year old)| Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (HD)
Eighteen-year-old concert pianist Wei Luo visited Colorado for the first time to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s first piano concerto at the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra’s season finale. We met the Chinese-American musician in the Romanesque colonnade in Civic Center Park to chat about music, life in high school, and moving to the States as a young girl to pursue her career as a pianist. Thursday, May 25, Denver Philharmonic’s 69th season finale WHEN IN ROME features the concerto, Tchaikovsky’s “Capriccio Italien,” and Respighi’s “Fountains of Rome” and “Pines of Rome.”
